Före detta Premier League-back död i bilkrasch
Före detta Aston Villa och Bolton-försvararen Jlloyd Samuel har dött i en bilkrasch.
Det bekräftar Trinidad och Tobagos fotbollsförbund på sin officiella Facebook-sida.
”Han hade precis lämnat sina barn i skolan och krockade med en mötande bil”, skriver man, enligt Mirror.
Jlloyd Samuel fostrades som spelare i Aston Villa där backen till slut gjorde 169 matcher för A-laget innan han flyttade till PL-konkurrenten Bolton 2007–2011.
Under de här åren gjorde han också flera ungdoms-landskamper för England men 2009 gjorde han sin första A-landskamp för hemlandet Trinidad och Tobago.
Och det är Trinidads fotbollsförbund som nu ger det tragiska beskedet att Samuel gått bort bara 37 år gammal. I ett uttalande skriver man:
”Vi har tagit emot hemska nyheter att forne landslagsmannen och tidigare Aston Villa och Bolton-spelaren Jlloyd Samuel dött i en bilkrasch i England i morse” och fortsätter:
”Enligt rapporter ska Jlloyd varit på väg hem efter att ha lämnat sina barn i skolan och krockade då med ett mötande fordon”.
Totalt gjorde Jlloyd Samuel elva säsonger i Premier League.
